Deleting your account and data
A Skipedia account is only needed for the travel-buddy section and reviews. You can delete it at any time - two ways, both below.
Deleting your account yourself
Open your account page (sign in with the link from your email - we have no passwords) and press "Delete account" at the bottom. Deletion happens immediately.
Deleting by email
If you cannot access your account, write to [email protected] from the address the account is registered to and ask us to erase your data. We do it within three working days and confirm by reply.
What is deleted
Your profile (name, email, age), every sign-in link and open session, your travel-buddy listings and resort reviews, notification subscriptions, and SkiMap app data: profile photo, tracks and ski days, map position, friends, invitations and device tokens. Old email links stop working.
What remains and why
Messages you sent in a conversation stay with the other person: it is their conversation too, and we cannot erase half of it. Your name there is replaced with "Deleted user". Mail delivery logs are kept for up to 12 months for spam-complaint handling; they contain no message content.
Timing
Removal from the live database is immediate (or within three working days for email requests). Backups are rotated within 30 days, after which recovery is impossible.
