Ski buddies
Listings from people looking for company on a ski trip: someone to share a car, an apartment, or simply the slopes with.
Park City trip, first time in Utah
Flying in for a week and looking for company on the mountain. I ski blues and easier blacks and I am hoping the Utah snow lives up to the marketing. Happy to split a rental car from Salt Lake City — the airport transfer is the one part of the trip I am not looking forward to.
Vail week, looking for people who chase powder
Local-ish and out most weekends, but this is a full week off and I want to make it count. Back bowls when they open, trees when it is snowing, groomers when it is not. Looking for a couple of people who can be at the gondola at eight and are not precious about lunch.
Spring skiing in Switzerland, sharing costs
March is my favourite month — long days, soft snow by the afternoon, and noticeably cheaper than February. I am looking for one or two people to share an apartment and the drive. I ski reds happily and I am working on my technique rather than my speed.
Valais week, looking for a strong skier
Based in Switzerland, so I know the area well and can plan around the weather rather than the brochure. I ski hard, and I am after someone who can keep up without needing a rest every third run. I can drive between resorts if the snow is better elsewhere.
Madonna di Campiglio at an unhurried pace
I have skied for twenty years and I no longer feel any need to prove anything. Long groomed runs in the morning, lunch on a terrace, a couple of runs after. I am looking for people in a similar frame of mind — my last trip was spent chasing twenty-somethings down the mountain and it was exhausting.
Livigno week, snowboard, room to share
Snowboarder, mostly piste with a bit of park when the shapes are good. I have a place booked with a spare bed and duty-free Livigno means the beers are cheap enough to be dangerous. Looking for someone easy-going who can be at the first lift without a lecture.
Complete beginner heading to the French Alps
I have never skied and I am not going to pretend otherwise. The plan is three days of ski school and then whatever I can manage. I would love to find other beginners — falling over is much less embarrassing in company. Resort not fixed yet, I am looking for gentle slopes.
Les 2 Alpes, off-piste with a partner
Ten seasons of off-piste, transceiver, shovel and probe always in the bag. I am looking for one partner rather than a group — easier to move and easier to make sensible decisions. If you have done an avalanche course, even better. Accommodation flexible.
Les Arcs half-term, looking for a ski buddy
Going out on my own for a week and would rather not ski alone the whole time. I am comfortable on reds, enjoy a long cruise more than a mogul field, and I always stop for a proper lunch. Happy to meet at the lift each morning and go our own way if the pace does not match.
Late-season Tyrol, ski touring partner wanted
Looking for someone to share spring touring days with. I have my own kit and a decent amount of experience, and I will not go out with anyone who treats avalanche gear as decoration. Two days with a guide are already planned; the rest depends on conditions.
Solden before Christmas, happy to share a flat
I have a two-bedroom apartment booked and one room going spare, which makes it much cheaper for both of us. Five seasons in, comfortable on reds, still talking myself into blacks. I am an early riser and usually done by four, then it is a sauna and an early dinner.
Ischgl week, looking for someone who skis fast
I ski most of the season and I am after people who like long days rather than long lunches. Reds and blacks are fine, and I am happy to cross over to Samnaun for the quieter side. Accommodation is booked, so this is purely about finding company on the mountain.
