Altay Alpes

Altay Alpes is the largest ski complex in eastern Kazakhstan. It stands in the Gornaya Ulbinka area of Glubokovsky District, approximately 24 km from Ust-Kamenogorsk, in the foothills of the Rudny Altai. Skiing is available between 647 and 967 m, with a vertical drop of around 320 m.

The slopes are divided into two areas: West and East. The West area is intended for beginners and intermediate skiers, and also has a mogul line and off-piste zones; the East area, served by two chairlifts, is steeper and suited to confident skiers. There are 14 pistes in total, with a combined length of around 15 km: two green, five blue, four red and three black.

Worth knowing

The resort has no artificial snowmaking - snow is entirely natural, but there is usually enough: the season reliably runs from November to mid-April.

The West slope has two T-bars - the 764 m Start and the 730 m Master. The East slope has two Karusel chairlifts, 0.9 and 0.95 km long, which take skiers successively from 689 to 967 m.

The resort is open year-round: in summer, it offers a rope park, fishing and pantotherapy.

Night skiing

The ski resort offers night skiing, with a piste of around 1.5 km illuminated.
