What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for value: lift passes are cheap for what you get, the pistes are well groomed, and the ski school and children's facilities do their job. Skiers appreciate that the lifts are reachable straight from the railway station, and that first-rate cross-country and snowshoe trails with views over the Cantal peaks start nearby. Staff come across as welcoming, and the resort handles large groups and families comfortably.
Altitude is the sore point. All the skiing lies below two thousand metres, so even in January it can rain rather than snow at the top, and reviewers describe cover that is thin or patchy. A strong skier works through the whole mountain in a couple of days and gets bored, après-ski is close to non-existent, accommodation within the resort is limited, and the approach from the Saint-Jacques side is called awkward.
