Weather at Mt. Elbrus

Weather at Mt. Elbrus: a six-day forecast for three elevations of the mountain. Temperature, precipitation, wind and cloud cover from MET Norway. Updated several times a day.

What the weather at Mt. Elbrus is usually like

The ski area runs from 2,350 to 3,847 m above sea level - a 1,497 m vertical. In January the daytime average is -5 °C at the base and -15 °C at the summit. Plan for that 10 °C gap: what feels right at the base will be cold up top. The summit sits around -15 °C at the same time of year - at that point the wind matters more than the thermometer.

Average daytime highs at the summit stay below freezing from October through May.

By May the base is around 8 °C while the summit still holds -2 °C: on days like that, start early and stay high. Based on monthly averages and the resort elevations. For the coming days, see the forecast above.
