Chasing a Dream: The First Slalom Run
● Atle Lie McGrath (Norway) won the previous World Cup slalom, held on 8 March in Kranjska Gora. Another Norwegian, Henrik Kristoffersen, finished second, while Lucas Pinheiro Braathen (Brazil) came third.
● Atle Lie McGrath leads the World Cup slalom standings ahead of the season's final race - he is 41 points ahead of Lucas Pinheiro Braathen. Frenchman Clément Noël is in third place, 77 points behind. Henrik Kristoffersen has scored 453 points in slalom this season and has not yet lost the chance to win the Small Crystal Globe in slalom for the second consecutive year, although he trails McGrath by 99 points.
● McGrath has won three slaloms this season - one more than Frenchman Paco Rassat. None of the other slalom racers has managed to win more than once this winter.
● Finishing second in Kranjska Gora allowed Henrik Kristoffersen to move into third place on the list of the most successful alpine skiers by number of podium finishes in the men's World Cup. The Norwegian has now reached the podium 102 times. Ingemar Stenmark (Sweden) leads with 155 World Cup podium finishes. Last season, Henrik won the World Cup slalom title.
● Lucas Pinheiro Braathen finished in the top 10 in every slalom this season except one race - he went off course in Val d'Isère at the beginning of December. Since then, he has consistently finished in the top five at every event, taking third place in Kranjska Gora.

Marco Odermatt has already won the overall World Cup title, second place will in any event remain with Braathen, while Atle Lie McGrath and Loïc Meillard are competing for third place in the overall standings.
