Dress rehearsal: second training results

Before the final World Cup alpine skiing races, athletes held two downhill training sessions in Kvitfjell (Norway). Today, the fastest time was set by Frenchman Nils Allegre - 1:46.68 minutes. The 32-year-old athlete finished seven hundredths of a second ahead of Vincent Kriechmayr, last week's downhill winner in Courchevel. Swiss skier Aleksi Monne finished third, +0.35. Marco Odermatt and the other competitors posted more modest results.

The Swiss skier has won the downhill "Small Crystal Globe" for the third consecutive time, and today he finished 18th (+1.63 seconds). Olympic champion Franjo von Allmen crossed the finish line in 21st place (+2.06).

The men's final downhill race of the World Cup season will take place on Saturday (starting at 12:45 Moscow time). Twenty-four athletes will compete, and, as is customary at the season finale, only the top 15 will receive points. Switzerland and Italy have the largest delegations: seven and six alpine skiers respectively.
