Franjo von Allmen Wins the Skieur d’Or Award in AIJS Vote

Franjo von Allmen has been named the winner of the Skieur d`Or award, presented annually by the International Association of Ski Journalists (AIJS). The award is decided by a vote of the organisation’s members.
Last season brought the Swiss skier three Olympic medals and seven podium finishes in Alpine Skiing World Cup events. At the Milan-Cortina Olympics, he won gold in three disciplines: downhill, super-G and the team combined.
A year earlier, at the World Championships in Saalbach, von Allmen won the downhill. He claimed another gold medal in the team combined alongside Loïc Meillard.
“I’m very happy and grateful for this prestigious award. It’s always nice to look back on the season that has passed and appreciate what I managed to achieve. And I’m looking forward to the start of the new season so I can show what I’m capable of,” Franjo said in a video message.
Last year’s Skieur d`Or award (“Golden Skier”) went to Federica Brignone.
