Palandöken is praised for its vertical drop and long runs: the descent from 3,125 m stretches for more than ten kilometres, and there is nothing else like it in Türkiye. Visitors also highlight the dry snow of the continental climate and prices that are noticeably lower than in Europe.
It is criticised for the wind and cold: Erzurum has harsh winters, and the lifts at the summit are often closed. The second issue is infrastructure: there are few hotels and almost no nightlife. The quality of rental equipment is also criticised.
