Silk Road

Silk Road ski resort is located in Xinjiang (China). It offers 10 km of slopes for skiing and snowboarding, served by 10 lifts.

Silk Road ski resort is just over an hour and 50 km from the centre of Ürümqi, with its easily accessible airport. Ürümqi is the capital of Xinjiang, with a population of more than 3 million, and offers an ethnic experience shaped more by Muslim customs in Central Asia than by traditional Chinese culture. The resort is fairly basic, with a ski shop, rental centre, restaurants and limited accommodation. The terrain seemed decent and steep, with plenty of snow. The chairlift here reaches approximately 2,000 m, while the high peaks in the surrounding area rise to 2,800 m. Overall, reaching Xinjiang is more difficult than visiting a ski resort in northeastern China.
