The ski area runs from 1,360 to 2,872 m above sea level - a 1,512 m vertical. In January the daytime average is 0 °C at the base and -9 °C at the summit. Plan for that 10 °C gap: what feels right at the base will be cold up top. The summit sits around -9 °C at the same time of year - at that point the wind matters more than the thermometer.

Average daytime highs at the summit stay below freezing from November through April. Last season brought 421 cm of snow here. The snowiest month was January: 102 cm over 7 days with snowfall. The snowpack was deepest in February, at roughly 65 cm. These are observations from a single season, not a long-term norm: a snowy year here can be twice a lean one.

Snowmaking covers 95% of the runs, so the start of the season barely depends on when natural snow arrives. The season usually runs from 27 November to 3 May.
