Liepkalnis lies within Vilnius, on the southeastern edge of the city, and remains the largest ski area in Lithuania - which in a flat country means thirty-five metres of vertical. There are ten lifts all the same, and the hill is divided into short runs, most of them graded intermediate. The snow is kept artificially and the floodlights work in the evening. In summer the same hill is used as a roller track.

What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for real skiing inside the city limits - the hill sits minutes from central Vilnius. Reviewers point to the separate beginner area with its gentle run-out and thinner crowds, instructors who work well with children, floodlighting that stretches the day late into the evening, and snowmaking that holds the cover through mild frosts. Staff are called polite and fluent in English, the prices fair for a capital city.
The rental shop is what draws criticism. Queues for gear drag on, and one visitor reported waiting an hour and a half despite a booked slot, losing most of the skiing they had paid for. The equipment is described as worn and not worth the money, the service slow and unfriendly. Another grievance: when the beginner runs were out of action nobody said so at the till and a refund was refused. Stronger skiers find the hill short.
