What reviewers like is the price and the emptiness. A weekend ticket runs about $89 and holidays top out near $99, well below the rest of California, and an early season pass is called almost a bargain. Lift lines are close to nonexistent. Roughly three hundred inches a winter plus snowmaking on nearly half the trails keep the cover in place, and glades and small bowls add interest for intermediates.
Grooming and communication are where complaints land. Reviewers agree the slopes are poorly groomed and many runs see a cat only rarely. Lifts get closed or held without warning, sometimes for ninety minutes, and guest communication is described as dismal. Every chair is a slow fixed grip model. Hard terrain is thin, with a single true double black and short lappable vertical. The base is basic, apres-ski barely exists, and the nearest cities are over four hours away.
