Kvitfjell to Host the Cancelled Women’s World Cup Stage Instead of Narvik

Kvitfjell to Host the Cancelled Women’s World Cup Stage Instead of Narvik

The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has selected a new venue for the cancelled women’s Alpine Ski World Cup stage. The competitions scheduled for 12–13 March 2027 in Narvik (Norway) have been moved to Kvitfjell (Norway) and will take place on the same dates.

The revised schedule for the women’s stage is as follows:

  • 10.03.2027 — downhill training;
  • 11.03.2027 — downhill training;
  • 12.03.2027 — downhill;
  • 13.03.2027 — super-G.

Earlier, the Narvik organising committee announced that it would not host the World Cup stage. The decision was made following an overall assessment of the risks associated with completing construction of the facilities in time for the women’s March events. Although Narvik is due to host the Alpine World Ski Championships in 2029, its infrastructure is not yet ready for world-class competitions.

As a result, Kvitfjell will host both the men’s and women’s events this season. The men’s speed races will take place on 6–7 March, while the women’s programme will be held a week later.
