Plai lies by the village of Podobovets in Transcarpathia, on the spurs of the Borzhava ridge, and operates alongside the hotel complex of the same name. There are three lifts, mostly intermediate runs and under three hundred metres of vertical. There is no snowmaking. Pylypets stands in the next valley, with transport between the two villages, so many people ski both.

What visitors say about the resort
Access and facilities are what visitors commend: the road to the complex is good, and the resort itself is nicknamed a miniature Bukovel for its modern hotels, pool and spa and children's play areas. Snow guns and groomers keep the cover in shape even in a poor winter. Beginners are looked after with gentle learning slopes, carpets and a separate kids' zone, and there are far fewer people than at the famous Carpathian resorts.
Peak days are the weak spot, when lines form at the ticket windows as well as at the lifts. The timetable irritates too: the lifts run from nine in the morning to five in the afternoon, and evening skiing is not on offer. Pass prices are considered steep, and weekend rates are higher still. The terrain is limited, as two chairlifts and a drag lift soon pall. There are also blunt reviews about hygiene inside the hotel complex.
