What visitors say about the resort

The praise is for family comfort and the views: well-kept pistes, an easy ride up on the modern funicular and a panorama over the Seefeld plateau. Blue runs are singled out as unintimidating and rarely crowded. Beginners get a separate learning area served by drag lifts, where fast skiers do not come flying past. Free parking, a village shuttle, fair mountain-restaurant prices and a cross-country centre with some 150 kilometres of track also draw praise.

Size and price get the criticism: a confident skier covers the whole Rosshütte area in about three hours, so it is recommended for a long weekend at most. Some feel there are too few lifts for the money and that runs are narrow in places, and opinion on grooming splits sharply. There are only two black runs and one is frequently sheet ice. Catering on the Rosshütte is bluntly described as faceless mass handling. Apres-ski is quiet.
