Weather at Trysil
Weather at Trysil: a six-day forecast for three elevations of the mountain. Temperature, precipitation, wind and cloud cover from MET Norway. Updated several times a day.
What the weather at Trysil is usually like
The ski area runs from 395 to 1,100 m above sea level - a 705 m vertical. In January the daytime average is -4 °C at the base and -8 °C at the summit. Plan for that 5 °C gap: what feels right at the base will be cold up top. The summit sits around -8 °C at the same time of year - at that point the wind matters more than the thermometer.
Average daytime highs at the summit stay below freezing from November through March. Last season brought 234 cm of snow here. The snowiest month was January: 69 cm over 9 days with snowfall. The snowpack was deepest in March, at roughly 92 cm. These are observations from a single season, not a long-term norm: a snowy year here can be twice a lean one.
Snowmaking covers 77% of the runs, so the start of the season barely depends on when natural snow arrives. The season usually runs from 28 November to 18 April.
By March the base is around 2 °C while the summit still holds -3 °C: on days like that, start early and stay high. Based on monthly averages and the resort elevations. For the coming days, see the forecast above.
