1 / 1Wolf Mountain - Volchikha (Rewda) ski resort: Sverdlovsk Oblast, Pervouralsk. Video, elevations 340 - 526 m, piste photos and maps.
Trail information
Volchikha stands near Revda in the Middle Urals and, at 526 metres, remains the highest point around Yekaterinburg, some fifty kilometres away. The area is small: four lifts, three kilometres of almost entirely easy runs and under two hundred metres of vertical. The slopes drop through pine forest, and in clear weather the Revda reservoir and the ridges of the Urals are visible from the top.

What visitors say about the resort
Being half an hour from Yekaterinburg is the main thing in its favour, and people drive out even after work. It is rated a good place to learn, with gentle run-outs, calm slopes and a school and rental shop on site. Skiers who are already steady on their feet like that the runs differ in character, so a day can be varied. The basics are all there: a cafe to eat in, changing rooms and parking.
The lifts get slated: reviewers call them painfully slow, and the one serving the longest and most interesting run was simply out of service for some visitors. Ice keeps forming at the top of the first slope. Prices are considered steep - one review puts two hours of skiing for a family of three at over five thousand roubles. There are complaints about rudeness at the ticket window, and a queue forms at weekends.
