What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for the town: the gondola leaves straight from the plaza in Aspen, the ride takes fourteen minutes, and you finish the day in the centre. The mountain is prized by confident intermediates and strong skiers: the terrain is broken up, the blues would be graded black elsewhere, and there are enough moguls that bump skiers come specially.
The criticism is the total absence of green runs - there are none, so a beginner has no business here and is sent to Buttermilk or Snowmass. For a resort of this standing and price, a surprising number of the lifts are slow. And, as everywhere in Aspen, it is expensive.
