Espace Villard Corrençon - Villard-de-Lans/Corrençon-en-Vercors

The praise is for the forest: most of the runs thread through trees, so in flat light and wind you can still ski here when the open bowls elsewhere are useless, and the lifts rarely close. This is the largest area in the Vercors, the terrain is varied enough for beginners and experienced skiers alike, and lodging costs noticeably less than in the Northern Alps.

Altitude draws the criticism: the top barely reaches two thousand metres and the snow is unreliable, especially in mild winters. The second complaint is that there is little to do besides ski, and everything else needs a car. Some visitors consider the pass expensive for an area of this size.
