Since winter 2011/2012, the Gitschberg-Jochtal connecting lift (the Schillingbahn and Gaisjochbahn lifts) has linked the two ski resorts of Gitschberg and Jochtal. Riding the Gaisjochbahn lift with its glass floor is an unforgettable experience. For a monocable gondola, it has an impressive 540-metre span and 93-metre clearance - and offers a romantic view of the Altfasstal valley. Modern gondola lifts take you to attractive slopes from the villages of Meransen and Vals. At Gitschberg, the modern 10-person Ski Express gondola provides access to pistes of all difficulty levels. A 4-person chairlift goes to the summit of Gitschberg. Jochtal has two chairlifts, one of which is a high-speed detachable chairlift with weather protection. Village lifts are available in Vals and Meransen for beginners and provide connections to accommodation. The Mühlbach-Meransen lift takes skiers staying in Mühlbach to Meransen. However, you need to walk several metres from the mountain station to the Brunner lift.
