The praise is for the calm, family-first character and the points system that replaces a full pass: a child who needs only three or four runs does not pay for a whole day. Intermediates like the wide, well-groomed pistes and the abundant sun. Les Mosses and La Lecherette run through forest, so they stay skiable in flat light and wind, while La Berneuse serves decent off-piste after a dump. The revolving Kuklos restaurant and the train from Lausanne also score.
Lifts and sameness draw criticism. Reviewers complain it is gondolas all the way with not a single chairlift, that some kit is worn out, and one visitor queued over forty minutes. After three lifts you have seen it all: reds and blues barely differ and blacks are few. The day pass at around 65 francs is considered steep. A south-easterly aspect eats the snow, so late season turns up grit that chews ski bases.
