The ski area rises from 1,350 to 3,016 m, with a vertical drop of 1,666 m. This vertical drop allows you to ski from top to bottom without changing lifts and noticeably changes the conditions throughout the descent. The upper pistes are at high altitude, so the snow lasts longer than on the neighbouring lower slopes. The season usually runs from 7 November to 2 May.

What visitors say about the resort
Altitude and snow head the praise: conditions are usually decent even in November or March. The panorama is rated second only to the Jungfraujoch, and the Peak Walk bridge between the summits counts as an experience in itself. Those who know the place single out the Red Run from Scex Rouge down to Oldenegg. On a still, sunny day the wide, deserted pistes up top are called a novice's dream, and buses reach Gstaad and Leysin in about half an hour.
Wind is the biggest target of criticism, with late-morning closures a regular occurrence. There are not many runs and a lot of them are flat; reviewers complain outright about walking uphill instead of skiing down. Most lifts are T-bars and they take a while. The price feels steep for the amount of skiing, and weekends get busy. The common verdict: in doubtful weather this is no mountain for an intermediate.
