Mitterdorf - Almberg

The family-friendly Mitterdorf ski resort, located on Almberg (1,139 m), usually operates from Christmas until the end of March. There is a good reason why the ski resort in Mitterfirmianzroyt is also known as the “Glacier of the Bavarian Forest”. Almost all slopes also have snowmaking. The highlight is the JuniorSkiZirkus, which has been named the best children’s area several times. It is ideal for beginners, children and those returning to the sport. The resort also offers night skiing several evenings a week. The winter sports area in Mitterfirmiansreut also provides access to an extensive network of cross-country trails, winter walking paths and sledging runs.

Good to know

Easy and intermediate pistes are located on Almberg, in the Mitterdorf ski centre. The difficult piste is next to the Kißlinger lift. Night skiing is available on the Kirchen and Kißlinger lifts.

Thirty-one snow cannons cover all the pistes.

Valley runs lead back to all entry points.

Longest run

The longest run here is the piste at the Großen Almberg chairlift, 1.3 km long with a vertical drop of 298 m. The intermediate run leads from the summit, parallel to the lift, back to the base station.

Most difficult run

The most difficult is Kißlingerhang (FIS race course), 0.5 km long with a vertical drop of 145 m. The Kißlinger piste is a standard FIS course. It is also used for training.

Snowparks

There is no snowpark or fun park.

There is no halfpipe.

Night skiing

The ski resort offers night skiing.

Guests reach the summit by a double chairlift and several drag lifts. The Almwiese has a children's ski circus for beginners and children.
