Ozolkalns ski resort has the longest ski runs in Latvia and is located near the town of Cēsis. In terms of Latvia's natural scenery, you will find beautiful surroundings here, with a wonderful view of the Gauja Valley that resembles real mountains. The longest runs reach 500 m in length and have a vertical drop of 80 m. Ozolkalns has five slopes for skiers, snowboarders and children. They are all lit after dark.
Since Ozolkalns has ski runs of all difficulty levels, beginners can start learning without worry or fear. A special slope has been created for those taking their first steps in alpine skiing or snowboarding. It is flat and wide enough to provide safe instruction. There are two lifts on the hill - an anchor lift and a rope tow.
The best way to start learning to ski is with a ski or snowboard instructor. All instructors working at Ozolkalns are certified and get on well with both children and adults. Ozolkalns is a place where the whole family can relax together. The ski equipment available for hire is suitable even for very young children. Children have their own run with an anchor lift. The café on the ground floor has a children's playroom where they can warm up, draw or play a game.
A mini snowboard run was created at Ozolkalns in 2019. It is located on the children's hill and is served by a rope tow.
