1 / 18Síaréna Vibe Park - Eplény is a ski resort in Veszprém County, Hungary (Transdanubia, Dunántúl). It offers 7.7 km of slopes. Elevation: 333 - 509 m.
Trail information
Eplény lies in the Bakony hills near Veszprém and counts as Hungary's largest ski area - which in a country without real mountains means under eight kilometres of runs and 176 metres of vertical. There are nine lifts all the same, and almost everything is easy. Most visitors come from Budapest, about an hour and a half away. The season is short and depends entirely on how cold the winter turns out.

What visitors say about the resort
What wins praise is that by Hungarian standards this place is serious: far more runs and lifts than at neighbouring hills, the country's longest piste, and slopes groomed regularly. Floodlit evening skiing comes up again and again. Visitors value the short hop from Budapest, the working ski school and rental, courteous staff and the steady investment year after year. The SZEP card is accepted, which matters locally.
Weekends are what the complaints are about. At peak times the lift queue stretches to fifteen or twenty minutes, and the slopes are strewn with people sitting about. The pistes are narrow, especially up top, and clog quickly, so the advice is to take a weekday off instead. Prices keep climbing: an eight-hour pass runs to around thirteen thousand forint. Parking draws fire too, with cars left far from the entrance and the upper car park charged separately.
