Sillian - Thurntaler (Hochpustertal)

Wide pistes and flawless grooming are what visitors single out: perfectly prepared slopes and no waiting at the lifts are the phrases that recur most. The gondola from Sillian-Heinfels and the chairs above it reach almost 2400 m, the hardware is modern, and the children's and practice areas plus East Tyrol's southernmost terrain park get separate mentions. Most runs are intermediate, with several easy ones.

The thin choice for anyone wanting more draws the criticism. There is exactly one difficult piste, so advanced skiers exhaust the place quickly. Backcountry terrain exists under the lifts and beside the runs, but none of it is signposted or patrolled, so reviewers suggest looking elsewhere for untracked snow. Apres-ski consists of one large marquee bar at the gondola top station and nothing more. Visitors also noted the gondola runs slowly when traffic is light.
