Starting with the 2014/2015 ski season, the Helm and Rotwand ski mountains were connected to the three peaks in the Dolomites ski resort via the Drei Zinnen and Stiergarten gondola lifts. The panorama from the Stiergarten and Drei Zinnen mountain stations is simply breathtaking.
The winter sports resort around Sexten, formerly known as Sextner Dolomites, offers excellent family facilities in addition to a variety of well-groomed pistes for all ability levels. Children can have fun on the children's ski cross course, go snowboarding and enjoy three toboggan runs.
Passionate skiers can try the "Grande Giro delle Cime" ski adventure, which leads over five mountains in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, through three valleys and across the provincial border from South Tyrol to Belluno.
Two additional ski mountains are included in the Three Peaks in the Dolomites region: Haunold and Ski Area Val Comelico. They can be reached both on skis and by ski bus.

Connection information
The ski resort around Sexten includes the connected Helm, Rotwand and Kreuzberg Pass areas. The other ski resorts of the Three Peaks in the Dolomites are not directly connected to one another. These include Padola / Val Comelico, Haunold, Toblach and Prags.

Longest piste
The longest descent here is Helm-Vierschach, 4.8 km long, with a vertical drop of 1070 m.
Most difficult piste
Holzriese 2. Length: 0.7 km. Vertical drop: 300 m. The Holzriese 2 slope is one of the steepest in Italy, with a gradient of 72%.
Ski area routes
Giro Delle Cime, a tour of the three peaks in the Dolomites, is a one-day tour for passionate skiers. 5 mountains, 30 km of slopes and 9700 vertical metres.

Gondolas and an aerial tramway take guests from the base stations to the three peaks at the Dolomites ski resort. Since the 2014/2015 season, two very modern 8-passenger gondola lifts have connected the previously separate Helm and Rotwand areas via Stiergarten. Fixed-grip chairlifts operate in the main ski resort. The training areas in the valley also have lifts.

Three Peaks is praised for its tranquillity: the same Dolomite beauty as in the better-known valleys, but with noticeably fewer people and lower prices. Visitors highlight the long run from Helm into Austria and the good piste grooming.
Complaints concern the size and connectivity: around ninety kilometres of pistes, with sectors not fully connected and a bus running between them. The area is enough for a confident skier for two or three days. Another frequent theme is that there is little to do in the villages in the evening.
