The praise is for the gondola and the summit: the ride up from Camporosso is quick and comfortable, and at the top waits not a lift station but the real hamlet of Monte Lussari with its baite and restaurants, a draw even for non-skiers. The views of the Julian Alps and the three-border corner are called outstanding. The runs are narrow and locally steep, a gift for competent skiers, and the descent to the bottom is long. Cheap children's tickets and night skiing get a mention.
Surface conditions draw the criticism: the base sits low and the snowmaking is called dated, so the runs often turn hard and icy, and as reviewers put it people do not ski them so much as brake down them, scraping off what snow is left. The narrow pistes that experts enjoy become an ordeal for beginners, with no room to pass and a pitch that gets serious in places. The area is small, worth a day or two at most.
