What visitors say about the resort
Grooming and the absence of queues are what visitors like. The pistes are immaculately prepared and wide on Kaiserburg, Nockalm and Brunnach, and because the lifts start from several bases rather than one hub, waiting is rare. The huts and the food get particular affection. Kaiserburg has mellow powder bowls, and two thermal spa complexes draw non-skiers too.
Lifts and pricing take the criticism. The lift stock has not been renewed in decades: the machinery is slow and the long drags are called a chore. The resort is considered one of the most expensive in Austria and often said not to be worth the money. Combined tickets annoy people most: a ski pass with three hours at the thermal baths costs more than a straight day ticket to the baths, and the surcharge only becomes clear on site. Altitudes are modest, and in midwinter the snow does not always deliver.
