1 / 6Tufandağ ski resort is in Azerbaijan's Gabala District. It offers 12.3 km of slopes, 4 lifts and elevations of 975 - 1920 m.
Trail information
A major project is being developed in Azerbaijan, where a ski area is being built in the mountains between the Caspian Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. Alongside the construction of all buildings and slopes, four LEITNER detachable lifts are being built. The new 15 km slope will feature 230 outlets for 180 DEMACLENKO snow cannons, supplied by two pumping stations drawing from a reservoir with a capacity of around 100,000 m3. Four PRINOTH snow groomers will ensure ideal slope conditions. Once again, this is being achieved in record time. The first skiers are already due to arrive for Christmas 2012.

What visitors say about the resort
Tufandağ is valued for its views and for Gabala below - a lively historic town rather than just a collection of hotels. Visitors praise the modern gondolas, the vertical drop of more than 1 km and the quiet atmosphere.
Criticism focuses on the small number of pistes, with the ski area suited to a couple of days. Snow is maintained mainly by snow cannons, making the season short. Visitors also complain about wind, which can lead to the upper sections being closed.
