Val Mustair is a ski resort in the Graubunden region (Switzerland). Gentle runs predominate, so the resort suits beginners and families with children.

The ski area rises from 1,670 to 2,700 m, with a vertical drop of 1,030 m. This vertical drop allows skiers to descend from top to bottom without changing lifts and noticeably changes the conditions during the descent. The upper pistes are high, so the snow lasts longer than on the nearby lower slopes. The season usually runs from 26 December to 14 March.

What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for calm and intimacy: the valley sits well off the tourist routes, inside a UNESCO biosphere reserve, and the slopes are close to empty, with guests saying waiting at the lifts simply does not happen. The pistes lie above the treeline so cover holds well, and the gentle, wide terrain suits families with children. The day pass is among the cheapest in the canton and the staff are almost all locals.
Size and basic hardware attract the criticism: every lift is a drag lift, legs tire, and a strong skier will exhaust the terrain in half a day. Nothing here is genuinely steep and there is next to no evening life at the mountain. The access road is a separate grievance, unsurfaced, snow-covered in winter and with a narrow steep section on the edge that unsettles drivers in an ordinary car. Ratings are polarised, with a striking share of the lowest scores.
