Average daytime highs at the summit stay below freezing from May through October. Last season brought 174 cm of snow here. The snowiest month was June: 65 cm over 2 days with snowfall. The snowpack was deepest in October, at roughly 78 cm. These are observations from a single season, not a long-term norm: a snowy year here can be twice a lean one.

The season usually runs from 19 June to 18 October.
