Ski resorts in Chile

Chile stretches along the Andes for more than 4,000 km, and the ski season here runs from June to September. The resorts are located at high altitudes - the upper stations reach nearly 3,700 m - and trees no longer grow at this elevation, so the slopes are open and visibility is good.

Valle Nevado, just over an hour from Santiago, is the country's largest ski area, linked by a lift pass to neighboring areas. Portillo, at a pass on the Argentine border, is known for its yellow hotel on the shores of Lake Inca and training camps for national teams.
