The praise goes to a tidied-up operation and the price: the chairlift and pistes are called simple but recently rebuilt, the runs are groomed daily, and the day pass ranks among the cheapest in Italy. Visitors also like that no car can reach the ski area, which is accessible only on foot or by chairlift. Children get a magic carpet and fenced-off learning ground.
The size draws the criticism: there are few runs, variety is thin, and Italian portals score the place low as a result. Lift reliability is the sorest subject. A fire destroyed the ticket office and control cabin at Pian Belfe, then prosecutors impounded the chairlift over safety-zone irregularities, and the resort went several seasons with no skiing at all. The lifts only restarted once the seizure was lifted.
