What visitors say about the resort
Bogus is praised as arguably the best hometown mountain in the country: half an hour from Boise, with a season pass at a little over two hundred dollars that reviewers treat as unbeatable value. Its other trump card is Idaho's largest night-skiing operation, running late into the evening. There are plenty of greens and blues for a whole family, and the non-profit ownership and the staff both draw praise.
The shortage of expert terrain is the common complaint, along with parks that riders want expanded. Runs are short, and even the longest is over quickly. Snow is erratic: the early season often disappoints, and a day or two after a dump the trails ice over. Parking is tight, scattered in small pockets strung along the road. At weekends Morningside and Deer Point build lines of up to ten minutes, and the winding access road is itself rated a black diamond by locals.
