What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for empty slopes: queues barely exist and the skiing runs at your own pace. The lifts are modern, including detachable chairs and an eight-seater, trails are well groomed, and there is glade skiing plus parks for beginners and experienced riders. Reviewers agree the skiing matches neighbouring Brundage, and the base village is called surprisingly developed for such a remote spot.
The fragile lift layout draws criticism: essentially one line leads out of the base, and the upper lift goes on wind hold often enough to load everything else. Tickets are sold from a single window, and the line has stretched past an hour. The slopes face mainly east, so the snow degrades faster, while snowfall is lower than at Brundage, which has pushed opening dates back in lean winters. Day visitors complain there is nowhere to warm up, and the village construction stood frozen for years.
