Cerler is the highest village in the Aragonese Pyrenees, standing at 1,540 m in the Benasque valley directly beneath Aneto, the highest peak of the whole range. Almost all the skiing lies above two thousand metres on open, treeless slopes, and the longest run drops from the Gallinero down to the village - nine kilometres. The resort belongs to the Aramón group, and the pass covers several other Spanish areas. The Benasque valley leads on to the Maladeta glaciers, the last surviving ice in the Pyrenees.

Cerler is valued for its altitude - it is the highest village in the Pyrenees - and for pistes that run through pine forest, which is rare in the region. Visitors praise the peaceful atmosphere and views of Maladeta.
Criticism focuses on its size: with around 80 km of pistes, a confident skier can cover it in a couple of days. The second issue is the road and parking during peak season. Visitors also complain that some pistes rely on artificial snow in warm winters.
