The layout draws criticism: the area is huge and split across four entry points, with many flat sections between them, which punishes snowboarders on a powder day. Beginners and families find it awkward: the nursery slopes and childcare sit at the California base, three kilometres by road from the main village. The resort is more weather-sensitive than its neighbours and shuts lifts more often in a storm. Tickets are expensive.
