Alp2500 is two resorts on opposite sides of the La Tosa summit in the Catalan Cerdanya, joined on a single pass. La Molina is the oldest ski resort in Spain: its first lift started in 1943 and skiing began here in the 1920s, when Barcelona ran a "snow train" up the valley - the railway still works, putting the slopes two hours from the city by train. Masella on the northern side is almost entirely wooded, with four fifths of its runs between pines, and holds snow longer. La Molina, for its part, has the largest superpipe in the Pyrenees and has hosted Snowboard World Cup rounds.

What visitors say about the resort
Visitors praise the snow and the length of the season: heavy snowmaking keeps this area open longer than any other in the Pyrenees, and its piste condition is regularly called among the best in Spain. Reviewers note the room for beginners - almost the whole area can be covered on easy runs - along with the tree-lined pistes and the number of sunny days.
The complaints concern weekends: on Saturdays and Sundays the slopes fill up and the first lifts draw half-hour queues. The second is the link between La Molina and Masella, which is not always open, and visitors feel the operators are unhelpful when it is shut. Others write that there are barely any restaurants on the mountain, so eating means skiing back down.
