What visitors say about the resort
Altitude and snow earn the praise: the area sits high for the Pyrenees, nearly every run has snow guns, and cover lasts longer than at lower neighbours. Queues are rare, the mood is calm and family-oriented, and the beginner zone with its carpet and drag lift works well. The day pass is cheap by Spanish standards. On a clear day the Mediterranean is visible from the ridge, and Barcelona is two hours away.
Wind and access draw the criticism. Strong winds regularly stop the area opening in full and leave lifts standing. On the southern side of the Pyrenees it sometimes misses the fronts arriving from France, and the mountain dries out. The road up from Setcases is the bottleneck: the car park is small, on good days it fills by half past nine and access is shut. The area is tiny, the vertical modest, there is no nightlife, and some feel that is a lot to ask for the size.
