The praise is for the family atmosphere: friendly lift staff, neatly groomed pistes and virtually no queues even at busy times. Visitors single out the valley views from the chairlift, the long sledging run and the little plateau at the top, with its small restaurant, play area and warm-weather extras such as scooters and a pump track.
Ageing hardware and weather dependence are what visitors complain about. The main two-seater chair dates from the early 1970s and takes its time getting up the hill, and the operator itself has been discussing replacing it with a gondola. The ski area sits low, so the season is short and entirely at the mercy of snowfall: in a lean winter the place simply stands still. A confident skier will have seen it all in a day.
