The Nevis Range gondola is the only one of its kind in Britain, reaching an elevation of 650 m. It was built on the northern slope of Aonakh-Mora, the eighth-highest mountain in Britain, originally to carry skiers to the slopes. The mountain gondola has become a remarkable attraction for visitors, offering scenic rides, stunning views and clean mountain air. It is also widely used as a shortcut for mountaineers tackling the many challenging winter climbing routes on Aonakh-Mur, and by hill walkers accessing the summer routes.
