Spitzingsee-Tegernsee

The Spitzingsee-Tegernsee ski resort is about an hour's drive from Munich. It has modern snowmaking equipment and efficient lifts. Numerous cosy huts and mountain taverns invite you to take a break. Stümpfling (1,484 m) offers a wide choice of easy and intermediate pistes. Experts will enjoy Roßkopf (1,580 m) and its challenging pistes. A real highlight is the snowpark at the Spitzingsee-Tegernsee ski resort, which mainly attracts young winter sports enthusiasts. Several times a week, the Stümpfling piste is lit for night skiing. A free night ski bus takes skiers and snowboarders from the Schliersee and Neuhaus railway stations to the ski resort and back. The Spitzingsee-Tegernsee winter sports resort also offers activities besides skiing, including various cross-country trails and the popular toboggan run to Firstalm. Visitors can enjoy the pistes on Taubenstein on the other side of the lake, where lift operations in winter were discontinued after the 2015/2016 season.

Worth knowing

The Spitzingsee-Tegernsee ski resort offers pistes for all ability levels. Easy pistes can be found in the lower section on the Stümpfling side and at Dreitannenlift. Most pistes are intermediate and connect the Tegernsee valley with Lake Spitzingsee. Challenging pistes begin on Roßkopf. Most of the pistes are pleasantly wide and lead through wooded clearings into the valleys.

Connection information

The Stümpfling and Taubenstein areas are not directly connected.

52% of the pistes have snowmaking. Valley runs lead to all base stations at Lake Spitzingsee and to the Suttenbahn lift.

Longest piste

The longest run here is the Grünsee run, 3.5 km long, with a vertical drop of 530 m. The challenging route from Roßkopf to the Valepplift.

Most difficult piste

The most difficult is the Roßkopf run, 0.5 km long, with a vertical drop of 150 m. The piste from Roßkopf to the Roßkopf lift is challenging even for experienced skiers.

Night skiing

The ski resort offers night skiing.

From Lake Spitzingsee and the Tegernsee valley, modern four-person chairlifts take skiers to Stümpfling. As a result, most pistes are served by modern lifts, keeping waiting times very short. At Roßkopf, a two-person chairlift takes you to the challenging pistes. The rest of the ski resort is connected by tow lifts. There are two tow ropes for beginners.
