Sudelfeld - Bayrischzell

The ski resort stretches from the village of Bayrischzell to Sudelfeld, after which it is named, and Vogelsang at an altitude of 1563 m. The resort mainly has wide, long pistes. The Mangfall Mountains offer wonderful panoramic views of the Bavarian Alps, as well as the Inn Valley (Inntal) and the Kaiser Mountains. The 2014/2015 winter season brought a wave of investment to Sudelfeld. This initially involved construction of the six-seater Waldkopf chairlift, including a rental centre and heated ski park at Unteres Sudelfeld. The next step was to expand snowmaking facilities at the ski resort, including a new reservoir, a new freeride area and a snowpark. In the 2017/18 winter season, the next major improvement was completed at Mittleres Sudelfeld: the new eight-seater Sudelfeldkopf chairlift, one of the fastest in Germany, now connects the Grafenherberg area directly with Sudelfeldkopf at an altitude of 1436 m. The Sudelfeld - Bayrischzell ski resort is equally suitable for beginners and ambitious skiers. Families particularly appreciate this winter sports resort near Bayrischzell, with its beginner slopes for children and playgrounds. Cosy huts and mountain taverns complete the offering.

Good to know

Sudelfeld is an extensive ski resort with slopes of all difficulty levels. Most pistes are intermediate. The slopes at Mittleres Sudelfeld are very wide and lead through alpine meadows and forest clearings to the valleys. From gentle slopes designed for children to runs for experts, there is something for everyone. Actionwelt Sudelfeld, with freeride areas and a snowpark, completes the offering. Views of the striking Wendelstein are available from most slopes.

Additional features

The Stockhang cross-country trail, groomed in good snow conditions, leads from the mid-station down to the valley in Bayrischzell.

Longest run

The longest descent here is Upper Sudelfeld to Bayrischzell, 4.2 km long, with a vertical drop of 713 m. Runs 10, 11 and 4 take you from the highest point of the ski resort to the base station in Bayrischzell.

Rosengasse. Length: 1.2 km. Vertical drop: 340 m.

The Sudelfeld ski resort has invested in new equipment in recent years. The new eight-seater Sudelfeld chairlift entered service in the 2017/2018 season and is equipped with weather protection covers, a child safety system and heated seats. It is also one of the fastest chairlifts in Germany. The lift provides access to most slopes between Mittleres Sudelfeld and Grafenherberg. The six-seater Waldkopf chairlift is also equipped with protective covers, a child safety system and heated seats. It provides access to the slopes of Unteres Sudelfeld. This means that most slopes in Sudelfeld are served by very modern chairlifts. At Oberes Sudelfeld, the four-seater Kitzlahner chairlift takes you up the slopes. From Bayrischzell, the nostalgic Schwebelift Bayrischzell single chairlift takes you to Mittleres Sudelfeld. A three-seater chairlift, drag lifts and platter lifts complete the offering. There are also magic carpets in the children's area and at Tannerfeld.
