Stepanovo stands in the Dmitrov district outside Moscow, alongside neighbouring Yakhroma and Shukolovo. The hill is tiny: forty metres of vertical, three lifts, four kilometres of mostly intermediate runs. The snow is kept artificially and the season is short, but the slopes are well tended and weekdays are quiet. Moscow is about an hour away.

What visitors say about the resort
Stepanovo is described as a weekend ski slope near Moscow: it is about an hour from the city, has evening lighting, equipment rental and a ski school. This is enough for first runs and for "warming up before the mountains", as visitors most often put it.
Reviews do not support expectations beyond that: the vertical drop is about 100 m, the pistes are short, and there are queues for the lifts on weekends and during the New Year holidays. Visitors regularly complain about snow conditions during thaws. The simple advice from reviews is to come on a weekday evening.
