Yakhroma Park stands in the Dmitrov district outside Moscow, next door to Volen and sharing the same Yakhroma river valley. The vertical is under fifty metres, there are five lifts and nearly all the runs are easy - the area is frankly for families. Besides the slopes there is tubing, a skating rink and a rail-guided toboggan run. Moscow is about an hour away.

What visitors say about the resort

Reviewers like how clearly the place is built around beginners and families: nursery slopes, a baby lift, a tubing park and several ski schools. Free parking, well groomed floodlit pistes that make evening skiing possible, and lift passes cheaper than at neighbouring hills all get positive mentions. On weekdays the runs are close to empty, and the alpaca enclosure and fire pit are popular with children.

Queues are the main complaint. In December and January the lifts mean a fifteen to twenty minute wait, booking an instructor at the weekend can take forty minutes, and one visitor queued nearly two hours for tubing gear. The drag lift is described as worn out and the rental kit as old and beaten up. Experienced skiers find the slopes short and gentle, with less variety than at nearby Volen. Parking fills up at weekends, and there are complaints about rude staff and tired rooms.
