Val d'Allos

The praise is for the wooded character of the slopes: runs weave through larch forest, which saves the day in flat light and wind when open resorts become unskiable, and the lifts here rarely shut. The terrain is described as demanding in a good way, with sustained vertical and long runs. Le Seignus is liked for its village intimacy next to the larger La Foux, its family atmosphere and a well-kept toboggan run.

Piste maintenance is the first thing criticised, and the wording gets blunt: reviews describe slopes left neglected, groomers that do not reach everywhere and runs made dangerous as a result. Transport is the second recurring grievance, with only a handful of free shuttle runs a day serving Le Seignus and all of them crowded. The resort is little known outside the French south-east, and facilities and evening life stay modest.
