Wagrain is a ski resort in the Salzburg region (Austria). Most of the skiing is on intermediate runs - a profile that suits most skiers.

The ski area rises from 850 to 2,000 m, with a vertical drop of 1,150 m. This vertical drop allows you to ski from top to bottom without changing lifts and noticeably changes the conditions during the descent. The season usually runs from 28 November to 9 April.

What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for slope maintenance: pistes are groomed to a mirror finish and the lifts are modern and fast. Skiers like the link with Flachau and Alpendorf into one area, which makes it possible to ski all day without repeating a run. The long forest descents get special mention, as does the G-Link funicular joining Grafenberg and Grießenkareck. Access from Salzburg is easy.
Peak-season crowding draws the loudest criticism: during school holidays the queues at the main lifts grow so long that reviewers say they spend more time standing than skiing, and the G-Link is the worst bottleneck. The area sits low, so natural snow is often thin. Several visitors call the pass overpriced for the size of the area. Signage is another complaint: waymarking in the middle of the Wagrain sector is confusing.
