The Zillertal Arena stretches from Zell am Ziller in Tyrol over the Gerlos pass to Königsleiten and Hochkrimml, already in the Salzburg Pinzgau. The drop from top station to base is almost two thousand metres, among the largest in Austria, and the valley run down to Zell am Ziller adds up to eleven kilometres. The lower slopes are wooded, the upper ones open, and nearly all of them are covered by snowmaking. Near Gerlosstein runs a seven-kilometre toboggan track, open in the evenings as well.

Criticism focuses on the resort's spread-out layout - travelling between sectors can take a long time - and queues for the lifts from Rohr at weekends. Another common issue is that the lower slopes at around 600 m turn slushy during thaws, so getting down may require taking a gondola.
